Boyz in the hood
Boyz in the hood (1991) is based around a friendship group that is based in the ghetto’s of America, living a rough tough life, the film shows how the boys in the film get into serious trouble and the way of life that is going on at the time.
In the film boyz in the hood, our main characters Tre, Ricky and his brother “Dough” find themselves facing many problems that people with that lifestyle face, therefore they lead into crimes and violence. The film Boyz in the hood portrays social problems that occur in these ghetto’s in America, the film helps to show the viewer the stereotype of what people are thinking, for example in the film there are scenes of fights and violence this is how people stereotype all black males living in a ghetto environment.
In the film black people are shown as members of a underclass because they live in bad housing and live low quality lives, black people are shown to be poor because many black people live in these areas this view is just showing the stereotype people have in mind.
